Western Digital has announced the world's first 15 TB hard drive, the Ultrastar DC HC620. The novelty, designed for use in data centers, will be available for order in the near future.
WD Ultrastar DC HC620 will be offered to customers in two versions – with SAS and SATA 3. The main characteristics of the drive are identical in both cases: the spindle rotation speed is 7.2 thousand rpm, the cache memory is 0.5 GB, and the average access time is 4.16 milliseconds.
There is no information about the price of the WD Ultrastar DC HC620 yet, but it is known that the device will come with a five-year warranty.
