Google CEO Sundar Pichai made the first official comment on the creation of a search engine for China. He shared his opinion on the project with the participants of the Wired conference in San Francisco.
According to Pichai, despite the censorship, the Chinese version of Google will be able to process 99% of requests – more than any other similar service in the PRC. The head of the Internet giant considers entering the Chinese market a serious step for the company, noting the importance of providing all Internet users with effective access to information.
Recall that the development of a censored version of Google for China became known in August. At first, the search engine will only work on mobile devices.
