South Korea was the first in the world to switch to 5G – communication

The three largest mobile operators in South Korea SK Telecom Co., KT Corp. and LG Uplus Inc. began to provide cellular services using technologies 5G. So far, the new networks operate only in the largest megacities, but by the end of the year 85% of all densely populated areas of the country will be provided with coverage.

South Korea launched 5G – the first communications in the world. The United States, Japan and China are also actively working on the introduction of new technologies for wireless data transmission, but in these countries fifth-generation networks are still working only in test mode.

In Russia, it is planned to launch 5G after 2020. According to the government's plan, by 2024, residents of all cities with a population of more than 300 thousand people will have access to next-generation mobile services.
