Personal data of 257 thousand users Facebook got into the public domain

Journalists of the BBC Russian Service found the personal data of 257 thousand users of the social network Facebook in free access. A significant part of the victims of the leak are residents of Russia and Ukraine.

A database of accounts Facebook, including biographical information, phone numbers, friends lists and correspondence, was found on the Fbserver website and its mirrors. As the analysis of the published information has shown, approximately 47 thousand compromised accounts belong to Ukrainians, another 12 thousand – to Russians.

It is possible that 257,000 accounts are just a small part of a much larger leak. An anonymous hacker who allegedly owns Fbserver claims to have the data of 120 million users Facebook at his disposal.
