In Google Chrome 70, developers intend to disable support for outdated SSL certificates, which could break more than 1000 resources. When visiting them, instead of loading web pages, the browser will display a warning about the danger.
The changes will affect sites that use Symantec certificates that were issued prior to 2016 and are considered unreliable. To date, such digital signatures have been installed on 1139 servers around the world, including online platforms of a number of Russian banks.
If desired, Google Chrome 70 users can still access resources with insecure SSL keys, ignoring the browser message.
