Microsoft acquired Obsidian and inXile

Thus, the Redmond giant already has thirteen internal studios.

Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment have existed as independent companies for a long time (the studios were founded in 2003 and 2002, respectively), but will now work under the wing Microsoft, which, although it did not share specific plans, has already promised to give the developers the opportunity to 'fully realize their creative ambitions'.

Both studios are best known for their role-playing games: Obsidian's latest project is Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and inXile is developing Wasteland 3, which is scheduled for release in 2019.
