According to representatives Facebook, a flaw in the security system was discovered back in January. An internal investigation carried out by the administration of the social network showed that the data had been stored in open form since 2012. For seven years, at least two thousand people made inquiries to the database containing passwords, but did not reveal a single fact of access abuse Facebook.

By now, the company has already eliminated the problem, and now all important data, as expected, is stored on the servers in an encrypted format.
