Brazilian Government Opens Valve Investigation

Brazilian presidential elections are reflected in video games. And not the best.

Brazilian authorities are unhappy with a game called Bolsomito 2k18, released on Steam on October 6th.

This is a bitemap, where the player in the role of the presidential candidate of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro (his name, of course, is not directly indicated, but the name of the game speaks for itself) must cleanse the country of the “communist evil.” Virtual Bolsonaro beats up not only communists, but also blacks, women and people with a gay orientation.

Now Brazilian law enforcement agencies will have to determine whether such a game is permissible in Valve's digital store. An investigation has been launched against the developer BS Studios, Valve in general and the Steam store in particular. What sanctions may be applied to Valve is still unknown.

At the moment, Bolsomito 2k18 is still available on Steam: its cost in Russia is 133 rubles.
