The AirPower charging station Apple, announced in 2017, will never go on sale. The Cupertino company has stopped work on the device due to a number of technical difficulties, TechCrunch reports, citing Dan Riccio, senior vice president of hardware development Apple.
Riccio said the company had come to the conclusion that AirPower “would not be able to achieve high quality standards,” and therefore the project was closed. In a statement, the top manager apologized to buyers who were planning to purchase the charger and promised that Apple will continue to develop wireless technologies.
In 2018, recall, it was reported that Apple postponed the release of AirPower due to problems with heating the device and the operation of the software.
